SEE: Steel Beam From World Trade Center Arrives In Mercer County

The beam will be on display until Sept. 11, 2020.

A piece of the World Trade Center arrived in Mercer County one day before the 18th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. It will remain in the county for the next year. (See video below.)

The Hopewell Fire Department brought a piece of steel from the World Trade Center to Brandywine Living at Pennington on Wednesday, Sept. 10. During the arrival of the piece, bag pipes were played by a sergeant with the Port Authority in New York City.

Richard Strives, 82 of Pennington, was in the left tower when it was hit. He will be part of the procession of emergency vehicles that will deliver the piece of steel to Merrill Lynch, where it will be on display until Sept. 11, 2020. The procession will include Escapades producer Lauren Strano and Executive Director Ellen Moyer.
