Teen Charged With Attempted Murder After Shooting Juvenile In Mercer
18-year-old Matthew Wallace III and three occupants of a car were charged after a juvenile was shot in Mercer County, Ewing Police said.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — An 18-year-old has been charged with attempted murder and other offenses after Ewing Police said he shot a juvenile.
On Sunday, at 11:49 p.m., police responded to a report of shots fired in the 400 block of Berwyn Avenue. On arrival, officers found a juvenile male suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. The juvenile was taken to the hospital for his injuries.
Immediately after the shooting, a suspect vehicle description was broadcast to responding units. Officer Luis Martir found the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop. The four occupants of the vehicle were detained pending investigation, police said.

According to investigation, 18-year-old Matthew Wallace III from Trenton was identified as the shooter. The other occupants of the car were Nekhi Leonard, 21, Kendall Whittington Jr., 19, from Trenton, and Lakell Murphy, 19, all from Trenton.
Wallace was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a prohibited weapon. Leonard, Whittington Jr., and Murphy have been charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a prohibited weapon
