THANK YOU FROM THE GARDEN GATE GARDEN CLUB!

On March 17th, 2014, Professor Amy Ricco from Mercer County Community College gave a lecture on “How to Start a Family Garden”  at the Garden Gate Garden Club, which meets at the Lawrence Township Senior Center.

She talked about how to create a small vegetable garden, sow your own seeds, start plants indoors, and plant cool crops outdoors. She taught the kids and adults where and when food comes from and how you can be part of the process and enjoy the harvest as a family.

The Garden Gate Garden Club gave Ms. Ricco a small honorarium for the presentation [$25.00]. Instead of accepting same, professor Ricco requested that the check should be made to the Mercer County Community College so that the money would thereby be donated directly to the Horticulture program.  This Department is starting a fundraiser gather money for their display for the 2015 Philadelphia Flower Show.
