The stadium they play in has a new name but fans of the Trenton Thunder can rejoice knowing that professional baseball is returning to Mercer County this week.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) starting at 3 p.m. the team will hold a "Welcome North Open House," at Arm & Hammer Park. The team will hold an open practice after which fans will have a chance to meet the new crop of future Yankees and get their autographs. The concession stands at the former Waterfront Park will also be open for the first time this season.
General Manager Will Smith said tomorrow's event is the first in a series of exciting nights fans can expect at the ballpark. "As we head into year twenty in Mercer County, we're excited to continue the tradition of opening the stadium and welcoming the new team to Trenton."
