Township To Weigh Redevelopment Status For Lawrence Road Property
July 21 council vote will decide if 3641 Lawrence Road qualifies under state redevelopment law — not whether any project gets approved.
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — The Lawrence Township Council will consider a resolution at its July 21 meeting to determine whether the property at 3641 Lawrence Road should be designated as an Area in Need of Redevelopment under New Jersey law, according to a township notice.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Lawrence Township Municipal Building.
The council is being asked to determine whether it agrees with the Planning Board's recommendation and findings that the property satisfies the legal criteria established under New Jersey's Local Redevelopment and Housing Law for designation as an Area in Need of Redevelopment, per the notice.

Township officials emphasized that the vote does not approve a development plan, building plans, a specific developer, a redevelopment agreement, or any proposed construction project for the site. The vote is limited to determining whether the property qualifies for redevelopment designation under state law based on the Planning Board's investigation and recommendation.
Residents are welcome to attend the public meeting. The township noted the notice is intended to supplement statutory public notice requirements under the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act.
