Tractor-Trailer Hits Roof of Pharmacy Drive-Thru
The tractor-trailer's driver was issued a careless driving ticket following the accident at the CVS Pharmacy at Brunswick Pike and East Darrah Lane early Thursday morning, according to Lawrence Township police.
A tractor-trailer driver trying to make a delivery to a Lawrence Township pharmacy early Thursday morning (May 12) found out the hard way that he didn’t have as much room to maneuver the big rig as he thought he did.
Shawn Gunder, 36, of Findlay, Ohio, was attempted to pull the tractor-trailer around the rear of the CVS Pharmacy at 2721 Brunswick Pike, at the corner of East Darrah Lane, when the middle of the trailer struck the roof of the pharmacy’s drive-thru area shortly before 2:30 a.m. Thursday, Lawrence Township Police Sgt. Tim Drew said.
The impact caved-in the middle of the trailer – which was filled with boxes of merchandise – and also tore away part of the trailer’s roof, he said.

Gunder, who was not hurt, called police to report the accident, Drew said.
As there was no imminent danger of the roof collapsing, the tractor-trailer remained in place against the drive-thru structure until later in the morning when a township building inspector was able to come out around 9 a.m. to assess the situation, Drew said.

Following that inspection, he said, heavy-duty tow trucks were used to pull the trailer away from the drive-thru.
Gunder was issued a careless driving ticket by police, according to Drew.
