Trenton Ironhawks Coach Brings Hockey To Mercer County Kids
Chuck Weber visited the Boys & Girls Clubs ahead of the team's fall debut.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Trenton Ironhawks Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Chuck Weber swapped the rink for the gym on June 16, spending the afternoon with members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County at the Centre Street Clubhouse.
Weber got on the floor with Club members, sticks in hand, demonstrating moves in a session organizers said brought game-night energy to the gym. The visit was made easier by geography: the Ironhawks' rink at CURE Insurance Arena sits just around the corner from the clubhouse.
"This location is right around the corner from the rink, so there's a great opportunity to build a connection between the Ironhawks and the Boys & Girls Club," Weber said. "We're excited to give the kids in this local community their first taste of hockey."

The visit carries added significance for Weber, who served as an assistant coach for the Trenton Titans in 2001, making his return to the city something of a homecoming. The Ironhawks are set to begin play in Trenton this fall.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County President and CEO Reginald J. Coleman said the visit reflected the organization's broader mission of surrounding young people with positive role models.

"We're thrilled to have the Ironhawks as part of our community and look forward to creating meaningful experiences for our Club members," Coleman said. "Their support is about inspiring young people, encouraging them to try new things, and showing them what's possible when we all come together."
Weber also donated hockey equipment to the Club and invited members to attend the Ironhawks' season opener.
