Washington Crossing Audubon Society Presents: “Night Thawks and Far Thawks: Uncommon Tales of a Once-Common Bird,” a presentation by Rick Wright at Stainton Hall of the Pennington School on January 20.

Washington Crossing Audubon Society will host a free, public presentation at 8 PM on Monday, January 20 by Rick Wright.

Until its sad decline in recent decades, the Common Nighthawk was just as abundant as its name suggests – but in the early days of North American ornithology this dashing goatsucker was surrounded by superstition and myth. Join Rick Wright in an exploration of the crooked path that science has taken towards a better understanding of one of our most mysterious and charismatic birds, the Common Nighthawk.

The program will be held in Stainton Hall on the campus of the Pennington School, 112 W. Delaware Ave., Pennington, NJ. Refreshments are served at 7:30 PM and the talk will begin at 8 PM. The public is invited. Additional information can be found at www.washingtoncrossingaudubon.org. Follow us on Facebook.
