TRENTON, NJ - A disturbing video of an NJ Transit officer dragging and berating an apparently unconscious man at a Trenton train station is the target of an investigation by the transportation authority, officials said on Monday.

New Jersey Transit Police Internal Affairs is investigating the matter, and the officer has been placed on administrative leave, according to an NJ Transit spokesperson.

Patch has attached a copy of the video, obtained and posted by nj.com, which can be seen below.

The video depicts an officer picking up a man who is lying on the ground outside the Trenton Transit Center and throwing him down. The officer is yelling at him to “get up and get out.”
The officer then stands, staring down at the motionless man for about 20 seconds before appearing to make a call. He then begins yelling at the man again, cursing and dragging him.

The video is about a minute-long, and ends with the officer dragging the man in the direction of the person who is taking the video with a cell phone.

The officer hits the man and tells him to get up one more time before the video ends. It is unclear in the video why the man is lying on the ground in the first place.

The woman who said she shot the video told 6 ABC said her battery was low and the incident continued for about five more minutes. She was waiting for a ride when she noticed the commotion. She wasn’t sure what led to the incident, but said whatever it was didn’t warrant the officer’s actions.

The incident happened at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday night, and the video has been viewed more than 1,000 times on Facebook, according to nj.com.
