Youth of the Year Dinner Recognizes Outstanding Boys & Girls Club Teens

The Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County will hold its annual Youth of the Year Dinner on Tuesday, March 25, at Educational Testing Service in Princeton. Eleven Boys & Girls Club teen members will vie to be named Youth of the Year.

 

Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Boys & Girls Club member can achieve. It recognizes service to the Club, community and family; academic success; strong moral character, life goals; poise; and public speaking ability.

The winner earns a college scholarship and represents Mercer County at the New Jersey State Youth of the Year Program.

The Youth of the Year Program consists of mentoring, essay writing, and public speaking. Each student is matched with both a Boys & Girls Club staff counselor and a community mentor, who provide ongoing guidance and encouragement.
