• Retired State Police major named new Atlantic County chief of detectives (downbeach.com) — A longtime Linwood resident, retired State Police major James McGowan, has been appointed chief of detectives for the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, overseeing countywide investigative operations. His background includes nearly 27 years with the State Police and a recent security leadership role at Tropicana Atlantic City, and officials say his experience and local ties will strengthen law enforcement coordination across Atlantic County.
