Plans are underway for the 5th annual Markham Cares Day, an inspirational event for Little Silver's 6th graders. The themes are Cooperation, Assertion, Responsibility, Empathy and Self-control. On Friday, January 31, students will assemble care packages for US troops stationed overseas and are looking for donations of items listed here. Collection bins are set up in the lobbies of Point Road and Markham Place Schools, as well as the Little Silver Public Library.
In addition to preparing care packages, students will be treated to presentations by the following organizations: Wounded Warrior Project, Jason's Dreams for Kids Foundation, Holiday Express, Blue Star Mothers of the Jersey Shore and HABcore.
This day would not be possible without the support of volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, or have questions about the program, please email MarkhamCares@gmail.com.
