The perfect cure for the winter blues -- a visit to Sickles Market’s greenhouse during its Annual Artists’ Weekend, 1 Harrison Avenue, Little Silver, on Saturday, Feb. 16 and Sunday, 17 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Each day approximately a dozen artists will display their art and hold demonstrations.
The event is free to the public. Artwork is for sale with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the artists.
The art alone is reason enough to attend, however a simple walk through the natural, light-filled greenhouse with colorful flowers, lush fauna, heavenly fragrances and the melodious sounds of water fountains all work together to relieve the winter doldrums.

“This is a great time of year to enjoy our greenhouse,” said Bob Sickles, third-generation owner of Sickles Market. “It’s stocked full of beautiful plants and the natural light is perfect for displaying art. We are lucky to have so many talented local artists dedicating their lives to creating works of art and Sickles is happy to allow them to exhibit in our greenhouse,” he added.
Artists work in several mediums ranging from Watercolors, Oils, Pen and Ink, Textiles and recycled materials plus many more. Additionally, on Saturday Sickles Market will set up a terrarium table demonstration as well.
