
Chris Stevenson was the winner of the 10th Annual "Rich Veth #18" Scholarship Award on Tuesday evening. This award is presented each year by the Monmouth County Baseball Tournament for the participant of the tournament who represents the Courage and Values that the late Rich Veth (former head coach of Middletown North HS) stood for. Chris a member of the Red Bank Regional Baseball Team was one of many students who played in the Monmouth County Tournament and applied for this scholarship. Chris had to write a short 200 word essay on what "Adversity" meant to him. He was presented with a plaque and a 500.00 check during the MCT Finals between Wall Township and Red Bank Catholic High Schools. Chris has worked extremely hard over the past four years. He is a 3.5 student who has been a solid student/athlete and leader during his time at RBR. According to Head Coach Del Dal Pra "Chris is the kind of kid who gives 110% in everything he does". "I would take nine of him on my team"!. "I fully expect to hear that Chris is successful in everything he sets out to do". Chris is headed to Brookdale College in the fall where he plans to play baseball and further his education. Ironically Chris who is a Senior and Captain of the Varsity Baseball Team played his final game Wednesday afternoon at Middletown North High School Home of "Rich Veth Field".
