Apprentice Jockey Cartwright Fractures Hand in Fall
24-year-old native of Shrewsbury, England will miss next four weeks

Angels Way was hardly acting angelic before the fourth race at Monmouth Park Saturday, sending apprentice jockey Alice Cartwright to four-week hand injury as she hit the ground hard.
The 24-year-old native of Shrewsbury, England was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune around 2:30 p.m.
“She had a laceration and fracture of the right hand,” said Dr. Angelo Chinnici, Monmouth Park's medical director. “She’ll likely miss the next four weeks.”
