Author Digs Up Early Jersey's Dark Side [VIDEO]

Since moving on from teaching Latin and French at , John P. King has become involved in some nefarious dealings in the Highlands.

King's research into the dirty deeds of yore in Highlands and Atlantic Highlands is the subject of his new book entitled "Wicked Tales from the Highlands," which he came to speak about and sign at the Monday evening.

In the above video, King recounts the tale of poor John Colman, a crew member of Henry Hudson's Half Moon who became the first European to be murdered in the New World, right here off Sandy Hook in September 1609.
