Bamboozle Parking Details for Oceanport

Shuttle buses start running at 2 p.m. on Friday.

are doing their best not to get bamboozled over the next few days as concertgoers use a lot as overflow parking for a weekend-long music festival in Asbury Park.

Police Chief Howard Sutton said on Thursday that early numbers do not seem to be as high as the initial 12,000 people that concert organizers estimated would park in the borough and be shuttled to the Bamboozle festival this weekend in Asbury Park. However, the beautiful weather forecast for the weekend might increase ticket sales, Sutton said at the May 17 Oceanport Borough Council meeting.

Sutton said that residents can expect the heaviest traffic on Friday between 2 p.m., when the shuttles start running, to about 5 p.m. when the concerts begin.

Shuttle buses will run Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 a.m., according to the Bamboozle Web site.

Sutton said that there will be about four or five officers directing traffic in the Monmouth Park vicinity and more officers in the parking lot. At the end of the evening, there will be four or five officers monitoring the parking lot when the buses return from Asbury Park.

The chief said that Bamboozle organizers are paying for all officers to be used to monitor concert parking and traffic.
