Boats Collided In Sandy Hook Channel, Report Says

One person was injured in the accident, the report says.

One person was injured Sunday when two boats collided in Sandy Hook Channel, according to a report.

The Asbury Park Press is reporting that a man was taken to Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, with a slight abrasion on his arm and complaining of back pain, David Feather, the officer of the day at the U.S. Coast Guard Station Sandy Hook, told the Press Sunday night.

Feather told the Press the two boats -- a 20-foot Wellcraft and a 25-foot Wellcraft Scarab -- collided around Buoy 10 in Sandy Hook Channel. Feather said the 20-footer was hit by the Scarab and sustained damage to the starboard quarter. The 25-foot Wellcraft Scarab sustained minimal damage to the hull, Feather said.
