First HONEY of the Season!

Today we bottled about 40 lbs of fresh local honey! 

I pulled some frames last week and my bee buddy pulled some this week and today we spun them out of the wax honeycomb. 

As hard as we tried to stay clean there was honey on everything when we were done. 

In the pictures you can see the large stainless drum that we use, it has a mechanism in it to spin the honeycomb which flings the honey out and we filter it and collect it in buckets.
