Oceanport PTO Raises $19k for Schools

Oceanport PTO raising record breaking funds at annual PTO auction in April.

If you were in Paris last month with the Oceanport PTO, then you had a hand in bringing back $19,000 for Oceanport Schools. That's some souvenir.

PTO treasurer Dawn Weiss reported recently that the group raised about $19,000 at its annual gift auction held at the Buona Sera Palazzo in Ocean. The amount represents a record breaker for Oceanport. Last year's auction held at the Channel Club in Monmouth Beach raised $11,000.

The PTO will use the money to continue its cultural arts programs at Wolf Hill and Maple Place and fulfill teacher wish lists for things like Smartboards, author events and special supplies.
