Cheryl A. Cummings Of Little Silver Dies At 56
Services for former Brookdale professor, pastry chef will be held on Saturday.

Cheryl A. Cummings, 56, of Little Silver, formerly of Freehold, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Riverview Medical Center after a brief illness.
She received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and her master’s degree from Monmouth University. Cheryl recently retired from Brookdale Community College after 28 years as a communications professor and the Executive Director for the Brookdale Network. Post retirement she completed culinary school at Brookdale and started her own pastry chef business called Cher Bread in Little Silver.
Cheryl was predeceased in 2000 by her former husband, Jeffrey Jones.
She is survived by her only son, Ryan Jones of Red Bank, her mother, MaryLou Birchall of Farmingdale, her father, Ted Cummings of Florida, brothers; Mark of Farmingdale, Michael and wife Dana of Howell and Shaun of North Carolina, her sister, Darlene Larocque of Freehold and her beloved granddaughter, Olivia Scarpulla.
Visitation will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 31 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cheryl’s memory to The Nurses Scholarship Fund, RVMC, 1345 Campus Parkway, Suite A2, Neptune, NJ 07753.
