“I joined the Junior League because I was looking for a way to connect with other women in social as well as philanthropic ways. I was encouraged to join the Junior League in New York by a co-worker. I was young and fresh, working in an all-male environment except for this woman. She encouraged me to apply and acted as my sponsor (back in those days!). She was organized, successful and so on the ball, I figured if it was a fit for her, it could be good for me. I'm so glad she pushed me!
I have so many great memories of both the Junior League in New York and Monmouth County. Ordering pizza at midnight to close out a fundraising event, my baby showers thrown by committee members, going to a ribbon cutting with Mayor Bloomberg, working on an event with Mary J. Blige, the Little Silver 5K, my first JLMC Annual Dinner!”
