Point Road School will celebrate Read Across America Day on Wednesday, March 2nd with a visit from New Jersey author Karen Quigley and her dog Elwood. Ms. Quigley, the author of Everyone Loves Elwood, will share the true story of a funny looking unwanted puppy whose life changes once he finds a loving home. Elwood, winner of the World’s Ugliest Dog Contest has achieved fame on television’s Animal Planet, and uses his notoriety to spread the message, that it’s okay to be different. Point Road students will share in this important message, as we honor Dr. Seuss and celebrate the importance of reading during two assembles, one for Pre-K-2 at 9:30 and the second for grades 3-4 at 10:30. Parents of PM PK and K are invited to bring their children to the AM assembly and join us for this special event!
