This beginning class is great exercise and covers basic moves and techniques from many styles of belly dance, including Egyptian, Cabaret, Gypsy, Turkish, Folkloric and American Tribal Style. No jumping or running but still a great workout. Improve flexibility, coordination, and strength while having fun! Engage arms, legs, core and improve cardio fitness. You will work you arms, hips, buns and thighs, NOT just your abs. Increases mind body connection as well.
All Dancers are encouraged to dress comfortably. Please be ready to dance barefoot/socks or bring dance shoes. Belly dance has been a traditional exercise for women for thousands of years, before, during, and after child bearing. It is a joyful practice passed down from grandmothers to mothers to sisters to daughters and is great for the body and mind.
