Hoops For Hope Basketball Tournament to Benefit The Community YMCA and Dreams For Kids

Enjoy a night of fun with The Community YMCA and Dreams for Kids on Friday, April 26, 2013 from 6-10 p.m.  The charities have come together to host Hoops for Hope, a community benefit to support the Y’s Strong Kids Campaign and Dreams for Kids. The Basketball tournament will be held at the Robert J. Collins Arena on the Brookdale Community College Campus, 765 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft NJ.

Hoops for Hope is a family-fun evening designed to involve the whole community.  The event will feature a series of basketball matches between the Dreams for Kids Team featuring college-educated professional athletes who have all pledged to remain drug-free and smoke-free versus teams fielded from our community – area high school teams, parents, police officers, and more!

Proceeds will support the Y’s Strong Kids Campaign, which provides local families with discounts and scholarships for Y memberships and programs, and Dreams for Kids programs, which provide kids with character education, role models, and self-esteem to keep them on track for future success.

Hoops for Hope will feature an NFL store, silent auction and gift auction, 50/50 raffle, student performers, dance groups and more.

The event begins with a VIP reception from 6-7 p.m. where participants can meet the Dreams for Kids All-Star Team of NFL players.  Light refreshments will be served.

For all others, the doors will open at 6:00 and the tournament will begin at 7:00.
