NGF's 4th Annual "A Day at the Races" Family Event

The Next Generation Foundation takes it trackside to the Shore’s Greatest Stretch for a family fun day to raise money for pediatric cancer research.

Oceanport, NJ - The Next Generation Foundation will hold their 4th Annual “A Day at the Races” fundraiser at Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport, NJ. The one-day family friendly event will be held on June 2 at noon until 4:30 PM.

Known in the community for their “Save the Boobs” campaign and fundraising events for breast cancer research, once a year the group turns their focus towards children faced with cancer in hopes to make a difference. “When we started this organization, we were mostly twenty-something, single girls looking to make a difference. Now, we have become wives and mothers and feel we can change the focus once a year towards the joys we’ve experienced becoming parents and help raise funds for the children who need our help,” says Deana Rosenthal, President of the Next Generation Foundation.

Over the past 4 years, the Next Generation Foundation’s “A Day at the Races” event has featured a delicious catered BBQ, gift auction, and fun activities for younger kids. This year the charity is excited to have a “How Sweet of a Donation” table that features Monmouth County’s favorite sweet spots. “This is a great opportunity for custom cake owners, cupcake and candy shops, and bakeries to donate something delicious for attendees to see and taste,” states Rosenthal. Another new feature to the event is a chance to win access into the track’s Winner’s Circle for a photo op with the sponsored race winner.

The charity offers sponsorships to anyone interested in helping support the event. For as little as $200, sponsors can have their full-color logo on the event tee shirt, fence signage at the event and social media promotion that reaches over 2500 people. Additionally, gift item donations are also welcome for the auction table. Those willing to generously donate any items, baked goods or would like to sponsor can reach out to the charity via their website or Facebook page.

Tickets for the event are $40 for adults, $10 for children under 12, and children under 5 are admitted free. Tickets can be easily purchased off the Next Generation Foundation’s website at www.nextgenerationfoundation.com. Prices include catered BBQ, non-alcoholic beverages, race program and pen, family fun activities and an event t-shirt. This event is BYOB. Proceeds raised at this event will benefit Memorial Sloan Kettering Pediatric Cancer Center to fund medical research and clinical testing.

This is one of 5 events The Next Generation Foundation organizes throughout the year. In addition to the “Day at the Races” at Monmouth Park event, they also hold the Polar Bear Plunge at the Mad Hatter of Sea Bright on New Year’s Day, the Save the BOOBS ROCK’tober Fundraiser, Bowl for Boobs, and their annual black tie gala.

The Next Generation Foundation is a youth-based organization with a mission to get the younger generation involved with the fight against cancer. Whether it is raising awareness, fundraising or simply educating themselves on a disease that is so prevalent, we believe that their involvement could make for major advancements in finding a cure for cancer in the future.
