Rezoning of 466 Prospect Ave

Did you know our main street in Little Silver is about to change?

Probably not. Did you know our municipality by law does not have to tell you anything about what they do with municipal property?

It's not just more asphalt coming onto our main street.

There is a plan to knock down the building at 466 Prospect Ave. This building was acquired by our town with a sizable amount of money in 2005. Drive past our Municipal building and see the white professional building with black shutters.

You might know it as where Dr. Linda Fontana and Viscon Builders were located.

The town wants to create another intersection leading to another 65-by-185-foot parking lot.

and already hired engineers to plan. Who decides what is best for Little Silver’s People?

Do you want yet another “Cut-through”

on the side walk where your children walk and ride bikes?

Isn’t there already enough traffic craziness across the street next to Little Szechuan and Nails Plus?

The rezoning of the lot, from a professional to municipal use, will be addressed at a public hearing

at the council's next meeting on April 2 at 8 p.m. Please attend.

We, your neighbors, are trying to eliminate the Prospect Avenue entrance and end the parking lot a few feet behind the front of borough hall, which would create more green space

and allow the lot to be camouflaged by some type of planting.
