Fair Haven Mourning The Loss Of Young Police Officer

Services for 23-year-old Special Officer Robert Henne will be held on Friday and Saturday.

Fair Haven Mayor Ben Lucarelli has confirmed the death of Special Police Officer Robert Henne, who passed away at his family home on March 23, according to a statement issued to redbankgreen.

Lucarelli issued the statement on Tuesday afternoon:

“The Borough of Fair Haven wishes to acknowledge the very sad and untimely passing of Special Police Officer Robert Henne. Officer Henne passed away at his family home in Fair Haven, on March 23, 2015.

Officer Henne grew up in Fair Haven and graduated from Rumson Fair Haven High School. He was also a graduate of the 39th Monmouth County Police Academy.

Officer Henne’s life goal was to be a Police Officer and he served the Borough in an exemplary manner as a Special Officer Class I, since April 11, 2011 and a Special Officer Class II, since December 17, 2012.

On March 24, 2014, Officer Henne was presented with a life saving award by the Fair Haven Governing Body, for saving the life of a Borough resident while on duty. Officer Henne also served his community as a Fire Department member, since February 28, 2011.

Officer Henne was well liked and respected by all who knew and worked with him. On behalf of the entire Community of Fair Haven, I would like to offer our thoughts, prayers, and support, to his family and many friends during this very difficult time.”

Henne’s wake will be held at the Church of Nativity, 340 Hance Road from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday. A police service will be held at 6:30 p.m, Police Chief Daryl Breckenridge told redbankgreen.

The funeral will be held at the Church of Nativity at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
