Horse Gets Loose On Route 36 In Monmouth County: Cops

A horse got loose on Monmouth County early Thursday, causing a big of scene for passerbys. Anybody got photos?

A horse got loose in Monmouth County on Thursday, causing quite a scene for passerbys.

Oceanport police said the horse got loose from Monmouth Park before 9 a.m. and got onto Route 36.

The horse was out for a short while and didn't cause any harm to anybody, police and Monmouth Park employees said.

Monmouth Park security confirmed that the incident happened, saying that one of its horses apparently got loose through a stable gate.

"From our perspective it was like a dog running loose," said Oceanport Police Chief Dan Barcus
