PHOTOS: Markham's Stem+ Showcase the Place for Dreamers and Thinkers

The middle school's students showed off over 30 projects at the June 6 event.

middle school students got serious about candy, high heels and owl pellets, which were among the long list of topics explored this school year and highlighted in the Stem+ Showcase on Wednesday.

Gifted and Talented teacher Elizabeth Flynn explained that over 30 projects were entered into the June 6 school-wide event that originated from science classes, G&T students and individual submissions by inspired students.

Flynn, who helped coordinate the event with fellow G&T instructor Jill Lynch and 7th grade science teacher Erin Cusmano, said that over 50 students participated in the event.

We were especially inspired by the Shoe Switch-A-Roo, designed by two students who tried to develop a shoe that would convert from a high heel to a flat. These girls can dream.
