Jersey Shore Local Sings to 'Raises Walls" and Sure to Move Mountains.

Audrey-Kate Geiger, a local from WLB and whose mother and father are from Long Branch, has been pursuing her dream to sing for many years prior to being selected to perform in ABC’s latest singing competition, Rising Star.  She singing in NYC when she got the call she had been chosen for Rising Star.

The ABC singing competition is judged by votes received by its judges as well as the east and west coast audiences; however, instead of waiting until the following week to see who stays or who goes, the voting is calculated as the audience watches “Live” via an interactive downloaded Rising Star app compatible with Smart Phones and the IPad.  While the performers are singing, the audience simultaneously swipes “yes” to approve the performance or swipes “no” to disapprove.  The singers sing behind a “wall” separated from the audience but seen by the home audience, while the voting ensues.  When the percentage of the singer’s vote totals rises above the lowest percentage of previous singers, the wall raises, confirming they are moving forward while as complete their performance face-to-face with the audience in an exuberant and no doubt relieved state of mind.

Audrey-Kate’s performances earned her a place in the semi-finals where she is one of only six contestants left going into tonight’s competition.  Her score of last week ranked her in the top three and THE TOP female singer remaining.  She has been one of the audience’s favorites from the beginning, with the exception of one nail biting week, that may have given strength to how fluid and confident she performed thereafter.  She is often heard slipping out a little giggle during her performances making her gracious modesty genuinely refreshing. She continues to ‘Wow’ us as well as the celebrity judges: Ludacris, Kesha and Brad Paisley whom peaking from under his signature cowboy hat barely remains seated while she sings, often jumping out of his chair prior to her performances’ conclusions.  He has described her style as unique, mysterious and jazzy and most recently referred to her as ‘one of this show’s stars’.

No matter what happens from here, she is now and forever one of this Jersey Shore’s stars with the sky her limit.
