Runners and walkers of all ages and paces will be off to the races when the 50th year of the Lake Takanassee series opens on Monday evening on June 24th. The action is scheduled for nine consecutive Monday nights (June 24, July 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, and August 5, 12 and 19.)
Each evening will include three races: a 1500-meter run for boys and girls 14-and-under at 6:30 pm, a 5000-meter run at 6:45 p.m., and a 5000-meter walking event at 6:47 p.m. All are invited and no pre-entries are required. There are modest entry fees and the runs are very family oriented. Medals go to leading finishers in each event and top racers for the full season will be honored at the final race.
