Little Silver Comes Together to Help Fire Survivors

People from Little Silver and surrounding communities have begun reaching out to Donna and Joe Loftus, who , along with many essential items inside.

American Express and Visa gift cards, cash and checks made out to cash or Donna Loftus are being collected by friend of the family Carolynn Ozar-Diakon, owner of , at her business located at 112 E. River Road in Rumson so the family can buy new clothes, a computer, and the like.

"Gift cards are the best way to help," said in . "Please remember to include a note, since the sentiment that you are there for Donna and Joe is most important."

Sources say the family stayed with friends Sunday, and will possibly stay there Monday night as well. They are looking for a three bedroom furnished house to rent in town.

The Little Silver PTO and Education Foundation of Little Silver are helping to coordinate volunteer offers. A meal preparation schedule will be arranged in the next few days.
