Little Silver PTO Host "Live TV Game Show" For MPS Fifth and Sixth Graders

Fifth and Sixth graders from Markham Place School participated in a simulated TV game show hosted by the LSPTO.

The Little Silver PTO hosted a "Live TV Game Show" on Friday, March 11 at Markham Place School. Fifth and sixth graders were invited to attend and participate in the fun-filled event.

Approximately 130 students turned up to watch and partake in the game show. Fifth and sixth grade teachers and parents were also in attendance chaperoning the local event.

For an entry fee of $13, the students took part in some old-fashioned fun--that did not involve a TV, computer, or video game controller! Snacks and drinks were also included in the entry fee.

The "Live TV Game Show" was a simulated game show equipped with a television host, referee, lights, electronic scoring, background music, lockout buzzer systems, microphones, countdown clock, and a physical challenge round.

Upon entering the cafetorium,  students were given an orange ticket which were to be handed in if the student wanted to participate in the game. This strategy ensured that as many students could play as possible, without duplication of participants.

The kids were tested mentally and physically with challenges.  Teacher and coach at Markham Place School, Ryan Pina, acted as the team captain for the boys, while teachers Jennifer Taylor and Kristen Berube were team captains for the girls.

After Memory Lanes Bowling Alley in Red Bank burned down, the Little Silver PTO was looking for a local event for fifth and sixth graders to participate in, this is the second year the event has been held at MPS.
