Little Silver PTO Turns Trash to Treasure at Second Annual Rummage Sale

Little Silver PTO held its second annual "Clean House" rummage sale on April 9 at the Woman's Club on Rumson Road.

‘One man’s trash is another man’s treasure’ certainly held true on Saturday morning, when the Little Silver PTO turned a cache of donated items into cold, hard cash for the local school district. The PTO gathered donations from local families to sell at their second annual rummage sale, and the event proved to be a win-win situation for all involved.

Prior to the sale, local families cleared unwanted items out of their homes and brought them to the Little Silver Woman's Club on Rumson Road. The items were then put up for sale to benefit the PTO budget and enhance the social and academic programs at and.

PTO members Jen Barkey and Lorry Talavera coordinated the event with a small army of support from other PTO members. The myriad of donated items were sorted into categories in preparation for the many customers who stopped by in search of their own piece of treasure.
