Bells and Candlelight Vigil to Mark Tomorrow's Solemn Anniversary

"Forever in Our Hearts" Ceremony will remember the three Little Silver residents who perished in 2001.

There will be a number of opportunities for the public to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks in the area tomorrow.

Bells will toll in Oceanport beginning at 8:46 a.m., the time Flight 11 hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center, and continue throughout the day in memory of "the significant moments of heroism, bravery, sacrifice and loss" according to Mayor Mahon's Facebook page.

Both Little Silver and Oceanport will observe the national one minute moment of remembrance beginning at 1 p.m.

Little Silver will hold a candlelight vigil at Memorial Park to remember the victims of 9/11 at 7 p.m. will preside over a ceremony dubbed "Forever in Our Hearts," which will include a moment of silence in honor of Michael Arczynski, Tim Betterly and Karl Smith, the three Little Silver residents who lost their lives 10 years ago at the World Trade Center. The Little Silver Police Department, Fire Department, and EMS will participate in the ceremony.
