Monmouth Beach resident wins Lake Tak 1500

RTC Training runner and Monmouth Beach resident Drew Maher, 12, won the 1500 meter run on Monday at the Lake Tak race in a time of 5:13. 

The Lake Tak races in Long Branch are scheduled for six more Monday nights (15, 22 and 29, and Aug. 5, 12 and 19).

Each evening will include three races: a 1,500-meter run for boys and girls 14 and younger at 6:30 p.m., a 5,000-meter run at 6:45 p.m., and a 5,000-meter walking event at 6:47 p.m. All are invited and no pre-entries are required. There are modest entry fees and the runs are family-oriented.

Medals go to leading finishers in each event, and top racers for the full season will be honored at the final race.
