Monmouth Beach Woman Indicted on Oxycodone Charges

Resident faces two prescription fraud counts for Jan. 17 incident in Oceanport

A Monmouth Beach woman has been indicted by a Monmouth County Grand Jury on two counts related to prescription drug fraud, according to an indictment issued July 13.

Marissa Pontecorvo, 26, of Meadow Avenue has been charged with uttering a forged instrument and obtaining a controlled dangerous substance, both third degree crimes.

Prosecutors say they believe Pontecorvo forged a prescription drug blank which she used to obtain possession of the drug oxycodone from a pharmacy in Oceanport on Jan. 17.

Pontecorvo also faces the same charges from a separate indictment stemming from an incident in Wall Township on Jan. 12 in which Robert Gaynor, 27, of Rumson, William Galayda, 31, of Ocean, and Mark Cocciardi, 34, of Ocean were also named.

The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
