Man Shot Dead In Monmouth County V.F.W. Parking Lot: Prosecutor
Neptune police found the body of Corey Basden around 8 p.m.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office is looking for any information related to a fatal shooting Monday night in the parking lot of the V.F.W. in Neptune, spokesperson Charles Webster said.
Neptune police responded to the area of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Hall on Corlies Avenue in Neptune after hearing the sound of gunshots around 8 p.m. There they found the victim, Corey Basden, 34, Neptune City, deceased in the rear V.F.W. parking lot, Webster said.
Basden was pronounced dead at 8:15 p.m., he said.

A joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Neptune Township Police Department was immediately launched and is active and ongoing at this time.
