Both are extremely high achieving students. Alexandra is enrolled in RBR’s Academy of Pre-Engineering and Jared is an Academy of Informational Technology student. Both are bronze achievement award recipients and officers of the Technical Honor Society. They are also members of the Nation, English, and Spanish Honor Societies, and Student to Student leaders.

Alexandra and Jared both have additional interests which they have explored in high school and excelled at.

Alexandra works on the Yearbook and serves as its senior editor. She also pursued her love for cooking as a founding member and president of the popular RBR Culinary Club. In that capacity .  Her volunteer activities include Junior Ambassador to the K. Hovnanian Hospital where she worked with Meridian to help raise awareness of the children's hospital and organized fundraisers.

Jared Katzman entered RBR with a preference for two academies—the Visual and Performing Arts Academy, where he could indulge his love for music and dramatic performance, and the Academy of Information Technology where he could pursue his proclivity for computers. The AOIT won out, fortunately for RBR, as Jared has been a superstar in technology competitions placing between first and third in TSA, Future Business Leader, and Cyber Foundations competitions.

Katzman was part of and . He still managed to maintain his musical interests by studying classical piano, voice and participating in RBR musical and concert performances.

Jared also participates in the Science Olympiad, the Science Bowl and the Math League, serving as president of the latter and a member of the National Math Honor Society. He is also an active member of the Environmental Club, and has participated in volunteer activities with the American Littoral Society and Clean Ocean Action. Jared was RBR’s representative last year to the American Legion Boy State. Athletically, he has been a member of RBR’s swim team, and served as its captain in his senior year.

“These are two very deserving students and are representative of the best of RBR,” said RBR Guidance director Dawn Kazuba.
