Sickles Market is proud to introduce Arte Italica, an exciting line of fine, handcrafted Italian ceramic table and service ware. To celebrate Sickles Market - the Shore’s most trusted source for gourmet food, garden and lifestyle selections - will hold a trunk show exclusively dedicated to Arte Italica on Friday, December 11, from 3-6 p.m. The trunk show will feature various patterns that Sickles Market carries including the festive and delightful Natale, which celebrates the beauty and spirit of the winter holiday season.

Owners Bob and Tori Sickles, proponents of local businesses, are especially excited that Arte Italica’s owner/importer, Chris Collins, is a local Little Silver resident! He will be on hand that day as guest speaker. Collins will discuss how he was introduced to Arte Italica, the master artisans who make the ceramic wares and how they are fabricated. He will also discuss the unique qualities that make Arte Italica functional collectibles and demonstrate the versatility of the various patterns when entertaining with actual complimentary hors d’oeuvres. There will be special discounts at the trunk show and exciting door prizes.

Pieces of Arte Italica, which means Italian art, are designed, fabricated and hand painted in Italy by craftsman who use the same time-honored ceramic techniques handed down by generations of skilled artisans. The variety of patterns found in Arte Italica pieces are designed to complement each other, allowing for an unlimited variety of mixing and matching based upon individual taste. The general range of pricing for various pieces is $30 - $300.

“Arte Italica are works of art and are often collected like art,” said Collins. “Arte Italica has an old world look using time-honored traditions by Italian families who rely on the sales of the pieces for their livelihood,” he said. “I personally visit stores before we approach them to carry Arte Italica, Sickles Market, with its passion for quality goods and its customer base are the perfect match for Arte Italica. The fact that Sickles Market is part of my community is a huge bonus.”
