Social Media Attacks One Of Bennett's Reasons For Retiring
Oceanport administrator John O. Bennett III will step down on Dec. 31.

Controversial Oceanport Administrator John O. Bennett III recently announced he will step down at the end of the year, according to app.com.
Bennett - a former state Senator and Senate President - made the announcement at a recent Borough Council meeting. Residents have recently criticized him for working without a contract and holding other jobs outside of the borough.
Bennett cited attacks on him on social media sites as one of his reasons for leaving. He read a prepared statement thanking the borough for allowing him to serve.
