Come spend a day on the farm! On Sunday, October 26, 2014, Congregation B’nai Israel of Rumson (CBI) will host a day of old fashioned, farm family entertainment at Congress Hill Farm, at the western edge of Monmouth County, NJ. CBI members and non-members alike are welcome to join in the fun. Registration is required by October 23, 2014 and admission is free if you register by October 15.
The day will feature a lineup of activities the whole family can enjoy, including a kosher- style BBQ, outdoor sports, hay rides, nature trails for walking/biking (bikes provided), pony rides, hands-on feeding and grooming of horses, a zip line, outdoor rope course and more!
Robyn Etzler of Fair Haven, co-chair of CBI’s membership committee is excited about this family fun day. “We are looking forward to having a day to just mingle and relax with our members, friends and neighbors. Congress Hills Farm is a 200-acre hidden gem and I am thrilled that everyone will be able to experience this unique setting this fall.” Lester Mallet, of Fair Haven, the other co-chair of the event explained that while it is a family day, adults without kids or grandkids will enjoy it as well. “Congress Hill Farm is fascinating. Not only is it steeped in Revolutionary War history but it is interesting to learn how the racehorses on the farm are trained and cared for. We will have guided tours of the facilities and grounds as well as a talk about vegetable gardening.”
