Spring Rites: Welcome the Season with Newfound Curiosity and Energy
Now that spring has arrived, find the tools to de-stress, enjoy nature and energize.

Spring is here at last. This magical time so welcome after dreary months of snow and ice, calls us to refresh, re-energize, and focus.
If you are looking to inhale the season, here are 5 ways to maximize the energy of spring.
1. Get outdoors. Stimulate your senses and move your body. Enjoy the earthy smells of spring. Notice the crocus’ pushing u. Clear the winter debris. Plant some hardy spring pansies. Participate in the earth’s rebirth.

2. Bring some color into your life. The dull browns of winter call out for a bright antidote! A bunch of daffodils enlivens your home or office. A bright scarf or new tie will remind you of the promise of the season.
3. Recharge your body. Health professionals advise that spring calls for a body detox. If you don’t want to commit to that regimen add some spring greens to your diet-dandelion greens, asparagus or kale.

4. Clear out emotional clutter. Winter can turn the most cheerful person taciturn and grumpy. What unreasonable resentments have built up? What do you need to let go? This a perfect time of year to rebalance relationships with friends and family members.
5. Develop curiosity. Piggy back on the energy of spring to develop this trait. Winter lethargy dulls our senses and routines blunt our feelings. A recent Gallup survey designed to represent 96% of the world’s population reported that one of the strongest predictors of a meaningful and happy day was learning something new. Curiosity is strongly associated with lifetime fulfillment. Fortunately this attribute is fairly easy to develop. Curiosity requires that you look with “ fresh eyes” at your surroundings.
Find something new to notice about the people you interact with. Develop the ability to listen thoughtfully. You might find something new and interesting about that person.
Spring has a lot to teach us. Don’t waste this short glorious season and spend time investing in what matters most – you!
