VIDEO: Bucs Pucks Zing Past 'Stangs 4-1
Red Bank riding high with 3-0 record against divisional opponents, defending Dowd Cup champions Marlboro hobble to 1-5 start.
The Buccaneers (3-3, 3-0 Shore "D") defeated the Marlboro Mustangs (1-5, 0-2 Shore "D") 4-1 when the teams tussled at Jersey Shore Arena in Wall on Tuesday evening.
Red Bank notched their third straight victory with the win over Marlboro, the defending Dowd Cup champions. The Dowd Cup is a tournament of teams that play in the Shore Conference's lower "C" and "D" divisions.
Though RBR lost their first three games of the season to quicker "C" division teams (, Manasquan, ), those games have appeared to put some pep in their step entering divisional play, as the Bucs also defeated Ocean (3-1) and Jackson Liberty (7-0) last week to get off to a 3-0 start in the "D" division.

"We started out a little slow but we picked it up and then we got some goals and we battled," said Bucs forward Joe Franco after Tuesday's game against Marlboro.
Josh Cebollo opened the scoring early in the second period, with assists from linemates Franco and Joe Del Sordo. Later in the second, Tim Vilardi rifled a sharp angle shot past Feld's glove for what would stand to be the game winner.

Marlboro answered near the end of the second, deflecting a slap shot past RBR goalie Charlie Fox, but the Mustangs could not get any pucks past Fox in the third.
Franco scored into an empty net to make the score 3-1 in the game's final minute, and moments later, Del Sordo swooped in and deked out Marlboro goalie Alan Feld for the fourth Bucs goal of the game.
Red Bank's next game is a nondivisional game in Parsippany on Dec. 29. The Bucs return home to on Saturday, Jan. 7 when they play Ocean at 8:15 p.m.
