Pair Charged In Assaults On Homeless Man Posted On Internet [VIDEO]

Two recorded beatings and posted on YouTube, police say.

A Belmar man and a Lake Como teen were arrested and charged Sunday with two separate attacks on a homeless man that the pair recorded on video and posted on the internet, police said.

Taylor Giresi, 20, of 15th Ave. in Belmar was charged with aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit assault in two separate beatings of a Wall man who is frequently homeless, Sgt. Frank Lancellotti said.

Giresi was also charged with second-degree robbery and fourth degree theft later Monday, according to Lt. Walter Pomphrey.

Police are not identifying the juvenile, who was charged with conspiracy to commit assault and was released to a parent with a court date, Lancellotti said. The juvenile also will be charged with conspiracy to commit theft, Pomphrey said.

Giresi was taken to Monmouth County Jail, Freehold Township, in lieu of $60,000 bail, Lancellotti said.

The two videos posted to YouTube that police say involve Taylor Giresi, 20, of 15th Ave. in Belmar and an unnamed Lake Como teen were taken down by YouTube on Tuesday, citing the video site's policy against hate speech.

In one of the videos, Giresi tracks down the makeshift encampment in a wooded area where he meets his victim.

"I'm about to go beat up a bum,'' Giresi says to the camera.

Giresi first pushes the man down and later kicks him in the head and punches him in the face before leaving with the man's bicycle.

In another, Giresi pushes the man down from behind, drawing blood from the man's nose.

The unnamed juvenile recording the attack appears to apologize for his friend's actions. Giresi gives the man a hug in apparent apology, but knees the man in the groin. The man screams at his attackers and Giresi returns with a flying kick that knocks the man to the ground.

Giresi is being held at Monmouth County Jail, Freehold Township, in lieu of $110,000 bail. The bail was increased on Monday by $51,000 from its original $60,000 after the theft and robbery charges were added.
