The days are shorter and the smell of fall is in the air. Crunch, crunch under my feet, I heard it myself; there they were… the fallen leaves. As I began to look at the changing landscape of the yard, I realized it: September is over, but where did it go? Beach season ended, school started, sport schedules and play dates kicked in and as President of the JLMC, I really began “junior leaguing”. I’m happy to report as we enter into this 75th year, the JLMC is stronger than ever. We’ve been planning, prepping, implementing, and training.
If you missed us in September while we were out in the community, find us in October. We will be at the Little Silver 5k on 10/6. You’ll see us in our t-shirts and hats, running the race, volunteering at the kid fun run, and at our information booth. We would love to hear your story, and share ours. You’ll be able to spot us at the registration tables in Avon by the Sea on 10/13 for the Juvenile Diabetes Walk. Look for our social media campaign on facebook as we celebrate the International Day of the Girl.
We invite you to attend a free workshop: STOP ASKING FOR MONEY at JLMC HQs on Thursday, October 17 9:30-10:30am, presented by Jon Simons, VP of Resource Development; Donor by Design Group LLC. More and information and registration are available at www.jlmc.org

Be on the look out for our upcoming stories on the history of the JLMC, with 75 years of service there are plenty of stories to tell. If you have one you would like to share let us know at jlmcmarketing@gmail.com. We would love to hear how the JLMC impacted your life.
Before I know it Halloween will be here and October will be over. I’ll be asking myself where did it go?
