LIVINGSTON, NJ — A state lawmaker is helping to spearhead a holiday food donation drive to benefit in-need residents in North Jersey.
Assemblywoman Rosy Bagolie (NJ-27), a former Livingston town council member, shared details on social media about the food drive, which is supporting Power of One and Toni's Kitchen.
"As temperatures drop significantly, many seeking warmth at New Jersey's Code Blue shelters also need a hearty meal," Bagolie wrote in a recent email to her constituents.
"We have been asked to support by providing soups and other items for care packages to help those in need," she added.
The drive aims to deliver 1,000 emergency relief care packages (no glass items). Each will include:
People can donate through an online Amazon wish list registry, which can be seen here. Donors can also drop off items at Bagolie's district office, 651 Old Mt. Pleasant Avenue in Livingston, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Monday to Friday).
The 27th District includes the municipalities of Livingston, Millburn, Montclair, Roseland and West Orange in Essex County, and Clifton in Passaic County.
