The stage is set for Election Night in New Jersey’s 11th congressional district.
On Thursday, voters will head to the polls to pick a replacement for Mikie Sherrill, who was required to resign from her seat in the U.S. House of Representatives when she was elected governor.
The 11th district includes several towns in Essex, Morris and Passaic counties (see list below).
A special primary election was held in February to determine the Democratic and Republican nominees to fill her unexpired seat. Analilia Mejia won the Democratic Party endorsement, and Joe Hathaway earned the GOP nod. They will match up against independent candidate Alan Bond in a special general election for all the marbles on April 16.

Mail-in ballots have already been sent for the special general election. Early in-person voting ended Tuesday.
Hathaway and Mejia met for a debate on April 1. Topics that made the debate included the cost of living, the military, immigration and the Trump administration. Bond was not invited, but shared the replies he would have given with Patch.
