LIVINGSTON, NJ — Want to explore a “hidden jewel” of art in Livingston this spring?
An open house and public sale are happening this weekend at Essex County Riker Hill Art Park, 284 Beaufort Avenue in Livingston. The free event will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7.
Visitors will be able to take a self-guided tour through the art park, talk to artists, purchase artwork and view a compilation exhibition.
According to the county, the art park is a “hidden jewel” in the area:
“Riker Hill Art Park is a former United States Army Nike Missile Base in Livingston that was transformed into an art park in 1974. Over thirty artists work in the park, their studios perched high atop the mountain, with breathtaking scenic views. Artists-in- residence work in various disciplines such as painting, fine metal jewelry, ceramics, pottery, glass-blowing, printmaking, photography, weaving, fiber arts, mixed media and sculpture.”
